Amazing book. Quality poems that tell of the struggles of s transwoman.
A truly amazing piece of art that once I opened it had me hooked until I had finished it, the poetry is moving and deeply emotional and grabbed me by the heart and refused to let go. A must read.
A heartfelt book containing lyrical poetry that touches your heart as it talks through pain, fighting for identity, and small joys.
i will fully admit that i do not read as much poetry as i probably should, but you would be hard pressed to find a collection that touches on love and transness more evocatively, sincerely and succinctly than la mer does.
This collection of poems, while different from each other, flow together in a way that lets you feel Knives' uncensored and emotionally raw experiences. Her retellings capture love, heartbreak, dysphoria, euphoria and everything in between. I will hold this book close to my heart for a long time as well as anticipating Saint Knives' next release.
I totally understand why this was on the LGBTQIA best seller list. Saint Knives is an incredible wordsmith and reminds me of Warsan Shire. This is a must-have!
